Perthshire In Black and White

Perthshire In Black and White
Glenshee.

Perthshire is Scotland’s fourth-largest county and one of the few without a coastline. But it makes up for it in every possible way—forests, rivers, hills, lochs and light that shifts by the minute.

Some images demand colour—but others feel like they were born to be monochrome. Below are sixteen black and white images of Perthshire, a mix of digital and film. Can you tell which is which? Do you have a favourite?

A cloud inversion over Loch Tay
The ruins and hills at Craignavar

The view down Glen Quaich towards Loch Freuchie
Perthshire fields in winter.
The view from St Fillan's Chapel
Buchanty woods

Cloud Inversion at Kenmore
The hills of Glen Quaich
Schiehallion from Rannoch
Perthshire fields
Church at Comrie
View over Loch Earn with the ruins of Glentarken in the foreground.
An accidental double exposure which really captures a lot of the essence of Perthshire.
